Positive TB test only on hand

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Apr 12, 2002 7:40 pm

Dr. My husband had a mass removed from his hand, lab reports TB in removed tissue-my husband tests negative in chest, sputam, blood, and skin test-they can't find it anywhere else and want more tests. Also they say it is a non contagious TB-How can they tell it's contagious if dumbfounded why it doesn't show up anywhere else on his body. I have developed a chronic cough i am worried.

Contagious tb is the type that affects the lungs. it is contagious because the patient coughs and the tb bacteria get spread around in the air. I don't know where he got the tb in his hand. Did you ask his physician? Perhaps knowing more about him , his own physician has a better idea.
