new diagnosis, kind of scary

Post a new topicby jodybeth on Sun Aug 05, 2007 9:33 pm

At age 38, I have just been diagnosed with an SPN. I have not yet been notified by my physician about how big it is, where it is, or what the next step will be. I was in the ER last Monday because of severe pain in my right side. I had a CT scan to see if I was passing a stone, I ended up with a kidney infection, and while being discharged, the SPN was mentioned as an afterthought.

I am worried, but, not afraid of what the diagnosis might be. I just don't like being in the dark about what is going on with my body, especially this. It is strange, I don't feel different, but, then again, after reading up on SPN's, there really isn't much to expect in the way of feeling different. Just knowing that something is in my lung is a little disconcerting. I have never had anything really abnormal happen to me health-wise.

I will find out tomorrow, Monday, what the next step is. I joined this forum with hopes of finding some comfort, some education, and support. I have a very supportive husband and daughter, but, they don't know what to do for me, I guess I don't really know what to do for me, just keep communicating with my doctors, right?

Thank you for reading. Please feel free to post to this topic, I would love to hear from others.

The Ct scan for kidney stones would only catch the bottoms of your lungs, if it was an after thought it is probable a granuloma and non cancerous, especially of you area non smoker. Your right just communicate with your doctors
