Solitary Pulmonary Nodule

hi just getting over a terrible cold and cough. Cough lasted two weeks, went to Dr. because thought I broke rib, having pain in right side when taking deep breaths, coughing and sneezing is painful too.
Cough seemed little better though. Chest xray showed 7mm nodule on base of right lung. CT scan scheduled tomorrow. Dr says pain and nodule are related, and will not address my pain in side yet.
I'm soo worried, any one have any thoughts or advise?? I'm a mom 39, smoked in the past, but overall very fit. Does any one think the nodule could just have been caused by the infection ? poss pneumonia?

Pneumonia usually does not present as a nodule, good luck

THKS FOR REPLY , GOT CT SCAN RESULTS NODULE IS 7.2MM SMOOTH AND ROUND WHICH IS GOOD BUT NOT CALCIFIED, BUT NODES LOOK GOOD. SO FINGERS CROSSED. HOPE TO GET PET SCAN THIS WEEK .
HOPING FOR THE BEST RESULTS, BUT IF NOT I FEEL VERY LUCKY IT WAS CAUGHT ON XRAY SO EARLY.
ANYONE WHO HAS ANY ADVISE OR THOUGHTS PLEASE RESPOND THKS NATASHA
