2mm nodule on lung

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jan 01, 2002 12:39 pm

I wrote before regarding a 2mm nodule found on my lung by a body scan. I forgot to mention that my doctor ordered a PET scan. Is it true that this test can call a tumor that small malignant or benign????

thank you. for obvious reasons I am very nervous for the outcome. I havent smoked for 18 years but they say it doesnt matter. I am 60 years old and have taken very good care of my health.

A PET scan can be helpful in determining if a nodule is cancer but it is not 100% correct. Your doctors need to see the PET scan results and make a determination based on that and your medical history and physical examination.
