It is not noted in this article that nicotine leaves the body very quickly. In a few short hours the nicotine delivered by the last cigarette is well on the way to being gone. This is why those whom are nicotine addicted feel the cravings for nicotine so quickly. Like any addict when the levels of the drug goes down in the body the cravings for a re-dosing starts. If a persons nicotine tolerance is high the nicotine dose they require and the addiction demands is also higher and they have to dose heavier and more frequently.

SHS is associated with adverse effects in adults as well, including cancers, cardiovascular disease and reproductive and respiratory problems. However, SHS may have more harmful effects on children because their immune systems are less mature and, due to smaller airways and greater demand for oxygen, they may be more vulnerable to respiratory diseases.
