Sleep Apnea

All my life I have been thrown antidepressants at me, no doctor wanted to bother to see if there was a problem. Finally a dr did years later. I was just told I have sleep apnea and the pulminary dr wants me back he mentioned nitrate but I spaced and have no idea what that is? Why do I have to go back again? i did the overnight test already, they said besides the stop breathing part my breathing remained shallow, anyone know what nitrate is?
