Peter,
Congratulations! I was just diagnosed with OSA in December and haven't been able to force myself to actually sleep with the mask on after several attempts. Finally, last Friday I met with a respiratory therapist who fitted me with the "new" nasal pillows made just for women. It fits so much better and the apparatus is very light and fashionable (apparently important to women). She told me to wear the mask while I read or cook dinner for a week or so in order to make my body realize that it can still breathe. Then hook it up to the machine. Apparently, it takes most people 4 months to a year to get used to it.
It's interesting how a lack of sleep can cause so many problems - weight gain, foggy memory, restless legs, etc. I hope I'll be able to lose some weight once the machine and I are friends.
Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you on your new life. Glad I found this site.
Leigh
