Very confusedI have been diagnosed sarcoidosis 4 month back via X-ray. I dont have any symptoms yet. yesterday my japanese doctors, after second check up of my CT scan whch show same result as first one ,decided to start medication. I am very confused since i dont have any symptom and most internet sites advice not to use steriods at such initial stage. My doctor advice me to take predonine 40 mg daily for two week.
If some one has comment or experience , please share .
Re: Very confusedI would ask for or get a second opinion, good luck
Re: Very confusedI am not sure why you would say historic, which we take as a compliment or non operative when the previous question was answered
Re: Very confusedSorry.
The previous string was posted on Sunday Jul 3, 2001. I have been diagnosed with Pulmonary Sarcoidosis in 1965 at the Newport Naval Hospital through an open lung biopsy. I was told that sarc was a self limiting disease that would go away by itself. 42 years. Then I do some browsing on the internet and see that it is in fact an TH1 autoimmune disease similar to Lyme, MS, Epstein Barr Syndrome (CFS), and like that. I googled and found this site and the last Sarcoidosis string was 5 years old. What do you expect? Sorry. I am most interested in finding out all the information that I can about sarcoidosis. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Re: Very confusedNo problem, long story short our forums had to be rebuilt and have just recently launched we brought over the old posts in case they were useful to people searching. The only thing I can tell you about sarcoidosis is contained in the sarcoidosis link in the left hand column of this page, good luck with your research.
Re: Very confusedHi, I,m new to this site having just found it and my name is Annie. If it is not already to late, I would like to say to Sherygenius. Don't get a second opinion just say NO and if your asked for a reason, tell him/her that you would rather keep the steriods for emergencies. I was diagnosed 11 years ago but contracted it 15 years ago.
I have read about people saying get a second opinion all the time, I am British and this isn't easy to do over here so we make do with what we've got available to us. As I tell my fellow British sufferer's all the time, go to your local library and read up on the subject and quote it back to your doctor's. That's what I did and now all the doctor's and my dentist work with me to control this disease as best we can. I'm not saying that it's easy far from it, but it does help a lot.
