Did I ever have Sarcoidosis?I am a white, female, age 35. I diagnosed Sarcoidosis a year ago March. Shortness of breath, fatigue, migraines low grade fever, eyes sensitive to light erythum nodosum, amongst or things, ie joint pain, etc. I diagnosed based on an ACE blood level of 74 a chest xray MRI showing enlarged lymph nodes in my lungs. 6 months later, in September, I told it gone. Less than a 2% chance of it returning. Great....., rom chest pains, purple toes bottoms of feet fingernails. rashes behind my knees eyes still sensitive to light, some days worse than ors? weird joint things, like sacroillitis past December? shortness of breath comes goes constant throat frog? I keep getting pointed to lupus do think?
Re: Did I ever have Sarcoidosis? The symptoms that you are describing can be attributed to a variety of multisystem illnesses, which include sarcoidosis, systemic lupus erthymatosis and a variety of other problems (the lymphnodes are much more suggestive of sarcoidosis). It is really difficult to say dogmatically that any symptoms that are rather diffuse and nonspecific are not due to sarcoidosis. What one can usually say is that it is consistent with or not and look for alternative diagnosis. You could have very well had sarcoid, but nothing including the lymphnodes and the ace level is specific for sarcoid. Again, it is a diagnosis of exclusion of other processes that cause the same symptoms. Your symptoms are very consistent with sarcoidosis. Have you seen an opthamologist to see if you have eye involvement?
re: Re: Did I ever have Sarcoidosis?I saw an opthamologist, no eye involvement. Just the sensitivity to the light. Sometimes I wore sunglasses in my house! Now, this other weird stuff, but I was told that the sarcoidosis was gone in Sept. Yet, I have the ear pulsings, and the purple toes and migraines, etc. I feel healthy most of the time. The fatigue is comes and goes. I don't struggle with it as much as I use to. I started excercising and noticed that I feel better. Anyway, the other weird things made me think that I may have been mis-diagnosed. Any suggestions?
