Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

Dear Dr. I diagnosed sarcoidosis 4 years ago after lung biopsy. I am a white male 40 yrs. My disease appears stable on X-rays (stage II) blood work-ups. However, I continue to have symptoms of fatigue malaise wax wane. Sometimes I just feel like I am coming down flu or times it keeps me in bed flu like symptoms. My Dr. has checked me in hospital 1 week ran numerous tests - concluded anxiety due to no abnormal test results. symptoms I have now same as when I first became ill diagnosed sarcoid. Do have any recommendations treatment have experienced patients similar difficulties. Thank .

That is unusual. Especially the waxing and waning. Sarcoidosis can cause many things and I am always reluctant to say sarocoid is not causing it but I would search for other things to attribut it to before explaining it as due to sarcoidosis. It seems unusual that it would fluctuate as often as it seems.

My sarcoidosis tends to typically feel like it's underlying without adversely affecting me, with the occasional "episode" where i suddenly feel deathly tired which requires urgent rest, but which subsides over a period typically of three days. The lethargy also comes with unwanted anxiety and loss of appetite and a general desire to do nothing until the symptoms subside. There also appears to be some correlation with sunlight exposure (the day after swimming or playing golf and more prevalent in summer).

You're obviously not unique in this regard, but my episodes are surprisingly consistent in terms of symptoms and recovery. I would appreciate any help!
