Confused.

I diagnosed sarcoidosis in 1999. Initially it found on a x-ray, I had a bhroncoscopy, not through nose or mouth, I didnt know y could do , re talk of a possible thoracotomy. I on prednisone 30 mg a day 4 months, things were better, i could brea, roughly 6months ago i started having trougle breathing, im tired, i now have 2 mole like not features on my face, seemed like y apped overnight. my leg has some cuts on it havent healed in months, y hurt flake. I cough up white almost cauliflouwer like substances, is going on me? doctor said it nt likely to come back, my breathing is getting worse, more painful. any advice? my pcp doesnt seem to take me seriously, it is getting annoying. I feel like i am going crazy. thank r response. Dana

I would recommend you see a pulmonologist. There are many reasons for worsening shortness of breath, certainly sarcoid progression could be a cause but there are others that should be excluded as well. Repeating breathing tests and looking at your chest X rays might give a lot of insight into treatable causes or to see if you do need adjustment of your medications. The only two ways to do a bronchoscopy are through the nose or mouth unless you have a tracheostomy. Did they do a mediastinoscopy, where they make an incision in you upper neck to sample your lymph nodes.
