Sarcoidosis: The story of a family infected. When it comes to sarcoidosis, it’s a real shame that the professional medical field can’t stop and think for a moment “let’s listen to the patients!” I remember how I had been repeatedly misdiagnosed for four years before finally every medical test came back abnormal. It all started in 1977.
In those days there were days I’d awaken in the morning not being able to walk because of a painful ankle that felt like a sprain though I had done nothing to injure it....Read the full article
Re: Sarcoidosis: The story of a family infected.I am almost 40 (female) and was diagnosed with sarcoidosis at the age of 28. Seems I went through a bunch of symptoms over approx a 6mth span and was diagnosed after that mosty due to my eyes being so bad......then with taking a history of all of the other unusual things that had gone on in my body that year it was easy for them to diagnose the sarcoid. My doctor assures me that it likely was just an accute attack and I will likely not have it again. That's what I don't get though. I have still had other things go on over the years, all managable and treatable on their own but I always wonder if they are to do with the sarcoidosis. I don't want to be paranoid but have a hard time finding answers. My Doctor always has an answer, usually it's stress or viral. DO your symptoms come and go? Should I be having regular testing done to determine anything going on with me due to the sarcoid? I have had atrial fib attacks over the past few years, I have joint pain again, mostly hands and ankle.................again it's tolerable and advil helps but I always wonder why? I just read something about joint pain and psariasis (which I also have) being linked together as an immune difficiency problem and again I go back to wondering if it is sarcoid. I don't expect you to have all my answers just curious as to your opinion. This is the first time I have gone into a forum and talked to any one about it. THanks
