I have been doing a lot of research on sarcoidosis since my 38 year old daughter was diagnosed. There seems to be two disparate views - Western medical view which has no idea what causes this and is inclined to use steroids and/or immune suppressing drugs to deal with it, and the view that sarcoidosis is just one of a litany of auto immune disorders that is caused by bacteria that have the ability to affect the immune system so it does not attack the infectious organisms. There are also some real scams out there so be careful of any cure yourself with items from your kitchen approach. Check into the Marshall protocol or perhaps the salt and vitamin C regimen (I have no financial interest in or personal connection to either of these).

As a long term sufferer from Lyme disease, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, I can tell you that you will have to be very proactive in doing research to put together a program that works for you. From a lot of what I have read on the internet in support forums or blogs, Western medicine's approach to these chronic conditions does not lead to successful treatment for very many people. There is a lot of frustration out there. In my case I have organized a personal program of healthy eating, supplements, meditation and guided imagery, exercise, and a couple of Rx that have helped me get some of my life back. Some days are better than others. I continue to look for answers and use both Western doctors and some alternative medicine such as acupuncture. Good luck to you.

The sore throat, fatigue and foot pain are classic symptoms of Lyme disease with a co-infection of Babesia. You can get some great info on this at www.lymedisease.org and www.thetruthaboutlyme.com . The web site for the best testing lab in the US for Lyme and its co-infections is www.Igenex.com .

With all the research I am doing to help both myself (diagnosed with Lyme, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, Hashimoto's, and adrenal insufficiency) and my adult daughter (diagnosed with sarcoid and auto immune disorder. Getting further testing for Lyme) I am seeing a real strong pattern between Lyme and other chronic diseases, among them Sarcoidosis. That is why Lyme disease is called "The New Great Imitator." People have been diagnosed with MS or Parkinson's and it turns out to be untreated Lyme.

Good luck with finding a solution. Your rheumatologist should be able to get the testing kit from Igenex for you and test you for Lyme.
