The first time I was told I had sarcoid was in 1988 - it started off in my eyes, I thought I was going blind. Luckily, my friend was a doctor and immediately realized that I needed to see an eye doctor as well as a lung specialist. anyway, it took 6 months for them to make sure I had sarcoid. I was on steroids for over 6 months - gained weight, etc.
