Re: Pseudomonas Aeruginosa_HELP LUNGDOC!Dear Lungdoc
As mentioned in my previous post my specialist ordered Tobramycin by nebulizer 80 mg. ( 2 bottles 40 mg. each) once a day for 14 days. I then use Cipro 500 mg twice a day for two weeks. Every two weeks I switch antibiotics. I began using the Tobramycin Thursday, July 17th and continue to feel a rapid decline in my condition. My right lung feels very constricted and I have a deep cough during the day and worse laying down at night. I haven’t a temp. even though I break out in sweats and weak. I’m feeling as bad as I did a few months ago which is very alarming. You mentioned Tobi suppresses (not cures) bacterial growth. Is it possible Tobi isn’t working and is aggravating my lungs causing asthma attacks? What other alternatives are there for antibiotic treatments for me? I am very worried as my family doctor, specialist are both on vacation for a month. I don’t have another doctor as back up who is aware of my condition. I did see a doctor yesterday in a clinic who is not familiar with lung problems. She suggested using all of my nebulizers after I take Tobi. I use Ventilin and Pulmacort. I reside in a remote area. Lungdoc I really need your expertise, as I’m basically alone here.
