pericarditis, pleuritis and effusion

I developed a severe retrosternal pain with dyspnoe over the period of 24 hours. Was diagnoses at the hospital with viral pericarditis after 4 weeks ECG was normal and returned to work. A week and a half later was admitted to hospital with ronchi and rales and ? pneumonia. CAT scan revealed a big pleural effusion Conservative treatment, ie. antibiotics failed. Thoracotomy, decortication, drainage and biopsies followed. Results: a clear serous fluid with no TB, cancer of bacteria found!
