Slow growing lung tumor

Post a new topicby MichelleC on Sun Sep 06, 2009 4:11 pm

My 66 year old father (nearly life long smoker) was just diagnosed with lung cancer He has a 6 cm mass in his left lung. He had a chest xray approximately 16 months ago that showed no abnormalities. Last month he had another chest xray that showed this mass.

His doctor has said it is a slow growing tumor. Does that sound correct? No tumor to a 6 cm tumor in 16 months doesn't seem all that slow growing to me.

I am here searching for any information I can on this disease and what I can do to help my dad get healthy and survive this diagnosis.

Thank you for any answers or guidance you can provide.
