Dear Jenette:

First of all very sorry to hear that your mother is carrying cancer.

Dont might suggest, radiation to the brain and chemotherapy(carboplatin+Gemcitabine) treatment to the lung and depending upon the patient situation.

Also there targetted drug/tablet (tarceva) for the lung, but this is a costly affair.

Along with this treatment, the patient needs to have daily healthy supplements food(wheatgrass juice, oat meal, apricot fruit, carrot, )

Also keep in mind that before your mother is given chemo plz have make sure she has high protien food at least a week before the actual chemo.

I would recommend that you research the very best hospitals in your city/state so that your mom can have an opportunity to receive the very best treatment. Do lots of research online, and you'll find reviews from others just like you and your mom. Its going to be a long road, but with faith and positivity, you and your family will get through this.
