6 year old spitting up blood

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue May 14, 2002 10:20 pm

I have a six year old daughter who has been spitting up bright red blood on and off for about 4 months. Doctors she has seen have no clue what is wrong.
I am really frustrated. Please tell me what to do next. Someone has to have a clue. She bruises easily. She has had light ran down 3 times. Doctors say stomach is fine. No ulcerations, etc. Seems to happen when she is really active.

A careful ear nose and throat examination and a bronchoscopy may help determine if the blood is coming from the upper or lower airway. Blood tests to determine if she has a tendancy to bleed may also be helpful.

Thank you for responding. My child has just come back home from hospital. We still are not sure what is wrong. She has had 2 bronchoscopies already as well as a CAT scan from her sinusis to her waist. We are still awaiting blood test results. I am open to more suggestions if you have any to offer. I am getting more and more concerned.

I don't have any further suggestions until the blood test results are known. That may help with the answer.
