Hi everyone.. I am 28 yr old female. Was a smoker up till 3 weeks ago, about 8 a day. And on birth control method nuvaring. Woke up coughing up lots of blood 3 weeks ago.. Went into ER, with sore chest and back, but could breath fine. Stats were perfect 99 % oxy. level.
WIthin 10 minutes i had had a chest xray which looked fine. They took some blood and decided to send me for a CT scan , and then put dye or somthing in and did more Ct pictures.
By end of the day I was told I had a small blood clot in left lung.... SOO... Was given an injection of heparin and 5 mg of coumadin and told to go home and come bakc in morning for more heparin and whatnot.
Ended up being on heparin injections for 10 days, and have now been on coumadin for 3 weeks, up to 10 mg a day now... My INR level will not go above 1.5 so far. My chest still hurts sometimes, as does my back. No longer coughing up blood But just feel genereally like S***. My levels are checked every 3 days and ive been slowly inceased from 5 to 6 to 7 now to 10 mg of coumadin..
SHouldnt my levels be theraputic by now???
Does this mean the clot is still there?? Or other clots could be there now??
I never knew where clot came from, I had no bruising or anything on legs, although the docs are telling me that is where it must have come from... ANy one with any thoughts or advice or anything lol plz reply.. Thanks for listening.
