Re: just finding outHi Melissa;
I share your pain, however, take heart, at age 30 i had chronic pulmonary embolism. I did surgery to remove them from my lungs 8 years ago i am feeling ok, but really i have being having SOB's again that's really frightening. The good thing for you is that you already have your children who you love dearly. I would love to have children now but i am scared that it will make things worse for me. I have being really depress as a result and very often feel i am at the end of the world not knowing what to do. I am a loner and have considered suicide b4. I don't really talk about my situation with anyone, but your article touch my heart as i can empatize with you. Take care of yourself and let us pray for each other. I know i really want to help others going though the same situation without support like myself. So i am trying to change my career path to become a Respiratory Therapist. While giving hope to others you too can benefit. Flo
Re: just finding outHi to both of you,
I too am a survivor of a pulmonary embolism. I was struck in 1994 and we think it happened due a surgery i had with no preparation for circulation for my legs(stockings, comoressions etc.). I was admitted the day b4 my birthday in December and was there thru Christmas and was finally released New Year's Eve. I was scared to death. It took the health professionals almost 2 weeks before they knew what was going on, actually the day i started coughing up blood is what did it. Neither one of you mentioned any "blood thinners" like coumadin or warfarin , lovenox etc for help for your conditions. There is help out there and professionals to monitor your conditions as well. I have 2 grown daughters now and 3 grandchildren and I feel very blessed when i look back and fought thru all of this not to mention the doctors and hospitals telling them there WAS something wrong! My daughter is now a Respiratory therapist so i wish you well in that area. It is a good career. As for having kids, seek a good pulmonary doctor to see what your optiomns are. I did fine. Both of you need to talk to you doctors about these agents i mentioned above to help these blood clots you are getting. They run in my family too and so far, i have been good since that episode. Please keep in touch for i am curious as to what is going on!
