questions about CFMy son is age 7 and routinely coughs with chronic sinusitis since age 3. The cough is only seasonal; from Sept -April. He had large bowl movments at age 3 but the size has diminished with time. He had a negative sweat test (11) at age 4 (at John's Hopkins a credited center) and a negative genetic test (32 mutations checked) at age 6. Can my son still have CF? Is an Ambrey test needed with a negative sweat test? Any other ideas?
Thanks
Re: questions about CFThanks I will ask the Doc
I think I underplayed my son's cough. It is quite several with routine gagging and vomitting at night. The cough reduces while sleeping but again bad upon waking as the mucous drains down the back of his troat.
Re: questions about CFGet that sinusitis properly treated too. It can really wreak havoc on the lungs too. They may need to open them up for better drainage (surgery). They can image those sinuses and they can also culture what's infecting them. If Johns Hopkins says it is not CF then it is likely allergies or that sinus problem.
