Pulmozyme

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Mar 28, 2002 3:12 am

Our daughter 14 moths with CF gets inhaled Pulmozyme 2.5 mg x 2 per day. She doesnot cough except when sick with flu/cold or lung problems.

How do we know Pulmozyme is working? I thought it mobilized mucus to be displaced in main airpathways.

No coughing! No mucus movement! Is pulmozyme working or not necessary? I am afraid to cahnge what is working very well.

pulmozyme works but reducing the thickness or stickiness of the mucous so it can move to the large airways and get out. If she is remaining out of the hospital and out of trouble with her lungs, it is likely working. It is one of the best advancements in the care of these patients so I would encourage continued use.
