Cystic Fibrosis

My 85 year old father has just been told by his doctor that he has "fibrosis". Is that the same as CF? He has been in very good health till just recently. Never smoked. I did not talk to the Dr. myself and this info is third hand. They want to do a lung biopsy in 2 weeks. Thanks for your advise.

fibrosis in an 85 year old man is not the same as cystic fibrosis. lung fibrosis can be due to many things and a biopsy is often part of the evaluation to find out the cause.
