Decongestants and CFI have heard decongestants such as Tanafed and Palgic are beneficial to CF patients and should be used daily.
I have heard from others decongestants should be avoided due to the drying effect it has on lung mucus. Our daughter recently got ear tubes and has no upper respiratory drainage or congestion at all. Her throat and nose are clear as a bell. I am leaning towards keeping her off a decongestant unless it helps with clearing lung mucus. What is your opinion on this?
Re: Decongestants and CFI typically do not use decongestants unless the patient has significant sinus complaints and is miserable without them. There are mixed opinions about whether they help or hurt.
