cystic fibrosis

my 25 year old daughter is 14 weeks pregnant and has found out she is a c/f carrier and also that she has cystic fibrosis Is it possible for a person to have c/f and never have any symptoms?

yes it is possible if they have a mild form of the disease. some patients are not diagnosed until well into adulthood.

It is usually not a problem in preganancy unless the cf is serious and the patient has frequent exacerbations. In those cases, malnutrition is a problem as is breathing as the women gets bigger. It does affect the possibility the child will have cf and I am sure she has been told about this.
