Cystic Fibrosis and CancerI am new to the health channels forum...please bear with me.
My boyfriend is 34 and he has Cystic Fibrosis. He was recently diagnosed with Testicular Cancer he had the mass surgicaly removed about 2 months ago. Right now he is undergoing Chemo Therapy. After all of the testings, the Doctor confirmed his cancer to be Stage 1. I have no idea what to expect and I would rather not google information on this topic, as many websites provide viewers with false or invalid information. I pray for him everynight that God will put His hands on him and heal his sickness. Right now my boyfriend and I are 760 miles apart, it is very difficult at times because I just want to be there to make sure everything is ok. Can someone please respond to this post if you have any information that would be valuable. I appreciate all of you who took the time to read this post. God bless you all! Have a wonderful night. Bethann:)
Re: Cystic Fibrosis and CancerHi,
There is no relationship to CF and testicular ca. Stage 1 means that the cancer was limited to the testes and had not spread elsewhere. It is said to be the most treatable and has the highest cure rate. His doctor should be his best source for information about his condition, his prognosis and treatment. People tend to get immediately terrified when the "C" word is part of a diagnosis. There have been great strides in treating many forms of cancers over the past decades. Don't be afraid to learn about his cancer or any cancer. Best of everything to you both.
Re: Cystic Fibrosis and CancerThank you so much for your reply. You have a great day!!!
God bless you... Bethann;)
Re: Cystic Fibrosis and CancerHello,
While CF can cause infertility in men, it is not associated with germ cell tumors, such as testicular cancer This would appear to be an unrelated malignancy in your boyfriend. I could not find any references to other malignancies in CF. CF is a mulitsystem disease which most often affects the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. Hope this helps.
Re: Cystic Fibrosis and CancerYes, this helps...thank you so much for your time!!
Have a great day!! Bethann
