COPD

have had for over a year severe sinunitus problem and nothing has changed except to get worse.
Two weeks ago I developed upper respiratory condition, had ex-ray, reading reveals emphysema Next week I go for the pulmonary test. My Dr. feels I am coming in contact with something every day that is giving this respiratory condition,which I agree. I gave up smoking 37 yrs. ago. However, over the years I have been contact with fumes from cleaning agents (house cleaning business). I know this defininetly has had a great deal to do with this. I just found out that the A/C coils in my apt have lots of spores,mold. That too, is being taken are. Unfortunately I have to live with carpeting that came with the apt, so that too is being taken care of. Elminating stuffed furniture & getting some sort of leather that wipes down.
My Dr. said after he gets the pulmonary test results he will probably send me to an allergist to see what I am allergic to (that to is a long haul.). I constantly have this post nasal drip. I have made sure to elminate all dairy & cheese products awhile back. Has anyone else had this same problem, and do you think I am going in the right direction with an allergist I lost a sister to this emphysema but she had smoked since the age of 12 (hard to believe) and continued up till the last day.....
