COPD

I was diagnosed with copd/emphysema in 2003 of course I was a smoker,I smoked about a pack a day and the reason I quit was my great nieces (twins) they were my inspiration because I want to be around for a long time to see them grow up and be a part of their lives.
I am on oxygen now 24/7 I have been told it wont go away.If you can quit please, please do it.

I also have just been diagnosed with COPD/Emphysema - I quit smoking within 4 days after I got the news from my doctor. Had to have 4 cigarettes before I finally quit. I can kick myself for starting on this habit again 5 years ago. I am not on oxygen yet - but know that emphysema cannot be reversed.

I am so glad to hear that you also quit smoking - how long have you quit now? Best wishes and I hope your feeling well.
