relentless cough finally diagnosed

I developed a very strong cough that also became frequent infections. As a child I had allergy shots and yearly infections. The last 7-8 years had been the worst. Sometimes I knew my airway had closed completely.
Over the years, several pulmonary doctors had told me I had asthma and when that treatment failed to work they gave up. Two suggested it was all in my head. I also had CAT scans, x-rays and tubes up my nose and into my stomach.

Can you give more details on this. What did they actually do, are you still coughing? Did you cough when you laid down as well as upright? There are many of us coughers that vary but no results from doctors.

No allergies
No Asthma
Non Smoker
Non everything but coughing in upright position, doctors don't know what to do.

Please give more details.
