Too long to wait?

Post a new topicby asc on Fri Oct 12, 2007 8:23 am

I'm un the UK under the NHS and cannot afford to see a doctor privately. I am on holiday for 10 days from tomorrow.

At the end of September my GP sent a letter referring me back to the cardiologist because of a recurrence of chest pains, fitting a typically anginal description and relieved by GTN. Since then I have had one really bad attack. The others have been fairly minor, precipitated by exertion or stress, but I did have two on Tuesday evening when I was merely at my computer - albeit after a hard day.

Does this seem a long wait to you?

My plans are:
If I get a bad episode or increasing rest attacks I will go to A & E
When I see my GP on the 26th, I will ask if she can get it brought forward

It sounds like you might be developing unstable angina, it sounds like you should be seen sooner than later. If you are getting it at rest you should be seen at the emergency room, good luck
