Breckin ~ 19 months

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Sep 18, 2002 1:42 pm

Is there any known research of the drug Prednisone in small children? The first year of Breckin's life he was on Prednisone quite often and has been sick more often than well. Now Breckin seems to have several developmental delays. As his mother, I am wondering if there is any place I could go to get more information about the effects Prednisone has on small children. Breckin does not have CF, only asthma. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Prednisone is very effective at treating asthma and has a good safety profile. There are ususally short term effects on behaviour with prednisone but unlikely that long term developmental delays are due to the prednisone. There are many causes of developmental delay.
