My elderly father just died of ARDS

My father was living at home with me, and was suffering from swallowing difficulties due to stroke Three days ago he aspirated some liquid and quickly developed a rattly cough. He’s had that before and it was successfully treated with antibiotics. This time, however, he continued to get worse. Eventually he was gasping for breath. oh my god my heart goes out to u ,my dad died 2 yrs ago ofCOPD and now my mum is ill with the same not getting much done with drs all they want to do is give her steriods and morphine she has lost her appetite for over aweek now food just swells up in her mouth and she cant swallow its torture to watch this all again as i nursed my dad at home with my mum as he was scared of hospitals but at same time he was so so brave had to watch him gasp for air watch him turn blue through lack of oxygen he also had right sided heart failure and gout ulcers on his feet and massive blisters on the top of each foot he was such a brave man whatever i found out about COPD was through me researching even for pulmonary care i had to push and push just to get him that tiny bit of care from the nurses at drs they came once aday to dress his feet he remained his dignity right till the dr said thats enough suffering and asked my mum and me if we were ready and he will give him an injection ,my dad still would not pass so he had to inject him second time, i felt that when the dr would do home visit he would say sorry no new lungs yet then it was that he was to weak , drs are so cold at times like they give a S*** i do really feel for u cos u should of never been in such a traumatic incident like this if u find the strenghth then go 4 it be heard that was ur Dad like my dad worked all his life and what did he get bk NOTHING ,THEIRS NO CARE IN COMMUNITY . ur dad was so lucky to have u bless u take care god bless
